Swiss pine bowls
Every Swiss pine bowl is turned individually from South Tyrolean stone pine — from the flat plate to the tall bowl with a lid. The open models come in four diameters and three heights, so they hold fruit, bread or keys just as well as sugar and salt.
Because the wood grew rather than being pressed, every piece differs in grain and knots. The bowls are untreated and can be wiped out with a damp cloth.
Never put them in the dishwasher and never let them soak: heat and lasting moisture make the wood crack. Oil them once or twice a year with a food-safe oil — not olive oil, which turns rancid.

Are the bowls food safe?
Yes. The bowls are untreated or finished with food-safe oil. They are ideal for dry goods such as fruit, bread, nuts and pastry. For juicy food we recommend an insert, as acids and pigments can leave marks in the open-pored wood.
How do I clean a Swiss pine bowl?

Why does every bowl look different?
Because each one is made from a grown piece of wood. Grain, knots and colour differ from trunk to trunk. Small, firm knots belong to Swiss pine and are not a defect.
